A curriculum introducing Floridian 10th graders to Islam has
at least one parent upset after he claimed the students had to recite an
Islamic prayer from the board. (The school denies this.)
During a segment on the flare-up, in which the Fox
Outnumbered panel roundly agreed that teaching Islam in its historical and
comparative settings was a good idea, Andrea Tantaros called the textbook
“defective” and said students should be learning how Islam “got perverted.”
“I don’t think we know enough about Islam,” Tantaros said.
“There’s a lot of people in the country now that could stand to learn: who are
we fighting over there? How did this religion get perverted? What do they
believe? I don’t think it’s a bad idea — as long as they get the 100 pages on
Christianity and Judaism as well.” Watch the Vidoe Foxs Tantaros Schools Should Teach Islam So We Know Who Were Fighting
“These textbooks are crap,” Tantaros added. “Where are they
getting them?”
