Vice Chancellor of Madrasah as-Sawlatiyah, Shiekh Majid
Hashim Rahmatullah inaugurating the 24th Fiqhi seminar at Ochira, near Kollam,
on Sunday.
The three-day 24th Fiqhi seminar organised by All India Fiqh
Academy began at Ochira here on Sunday with a call that campaigns against Islam
should not be countered with violence. This is the first time that the academy
is conducting a Fiqhi seminar in Kerala.
The seminar was inaugurated by Shiekh Majid Hashim
Rahmatullah, Vice Chancellor of the Makkah-based Madrasah as-Sawlatiyah. Mr.
Rahumatullah said that in the past too, there were differences of opinion among
religious pundits on intellectual issues.
But those differences never crossed the limits or
compromised on mutual respect. If contemporary religious pundits and
intellectuals followed the same practice, the world would definitely be
peaceful and a better place to live. The fact was that differences on issues
were natural for the human race. True pundits would coordinate those
differences and use it for the betterment of the humankind. “Muslims may face defeat
but Islam cannot be defeated and the enemies of Islam have started realising
that truth,” the general secretary of the academy, Shiekh Saifullah Rahmani,
said in his keynote address. Chairman of the All India Muslim Personal Law
Board, Maulana Syed Raabe Hasani Nadvi, presided.
